Can a fallen angel survive Boston and find a killer?

Fallen from heaven’s grace, the angel Cassiel finds herself in an impossible situation: accused of murder and racing against time to rescue a young elven girl from the clutches of darkness. In the face of this horror, she wrestles demons both inside and out.

Alongside her stand her friends: Jim, a disabled human combat veteran; Dust, an orc who serves in the church kitchen; and Eirlas, an elven former gangbanger. Can they save the girl and stop the demons in time while the city of Boston hangs in the balance?

“Don’t be fooled by the crispy fantastical coating that surrounds this book though. Yes, there are angels and demons, elves and orcs but there is more to it than that. Fallen offers insight into what makes us tick. Cassiel has a blistering honest view of the world, her adventures highlight both the best and worst in humanity.

With book one in the Smoke and Magic series, the author has crafted a rock-solid premise that offers endless opportunities. By the end of the novel, the main characters have been well established and a larger overarching narrative is beginning to reveal itself. I look forward to seeing where this goes.

“I loved this book. It had angels and demons, a wonderfully consistent set of rules and perspectives, a great pace, and a truly intriguing story. The characters were relatable and fleshed out, and it made me feel like I was really experiencing it. I found it inspiring, though I don’t know nearly enough about angels or Christianity to do it nearly the justice that Prybylski does. It really is one of the best takes on urban fantasy – and angels – I’ve seen in a long time.”

“Fallen is an addictive plunge into a world of myth, magic, and mystery. I couldn’t put it down!”
